Who it is for

Patients in second-floor apartments, homes with steps, or narrow hallways where a gurney cannot reach the door.

Equipment used

Track and manual stair chairs, secure harnessing, and a minimum two-person crew trained on stair descent.

What to expect

• We ask about steps, turns, and door widths when you book so the crew arrives prepared.
• The route out of the home is walked and cleared before the patient is moved.
• The patient is transferred to a gurney or wheelchair at the vehicle, never mid-stairs.
